The purpose of the AFAT-CG Association is to help Tibetan families originally from Kham and Amdo (Eastern Tibet), who heroically held out against the Chinese invasion. This resistance was led chiefly by the Chushi Gangdrug movement .

We especially want to contact people wishing to support the children of these families in exile, who have received very little international assistance, due to their isolation in Nepal and Southern India.

The principal activity of the AFAT-CG Association is the sponsoring of Tibetan children living as refugees in camps located in Nepal, in order to give them the opportunity to achieve a full education.

The association co-ordinates regular donations from its members, and forwards these to the children in refugee camps in Pokhara and Kathmandu.

The AFAT-CG Association was founded in 1992 by Mrs Do Gelpi and Mr Kusang Sherap. It now has about a hundred members and sponsors some 50 Tibetan children. It is recognized as an “Association d’intérêt général” by French administration.
